 ALERT FM is an aggregator of emergency information with multiple contact paths for mass notification. Emergency information is delivered via the data subcarrier of existing FM radio stations, SMS (text) and email. This personal alert and messaging system allows emergency management officials to create and send digital alerts and messages to recipients such as faculty, staff, students, parents, and other stackholders based on geographic or organizational groupings. Such alerts and messages might include NOAA weather warnings, campus evacuation notices, campus emergency instructions, and emergency class cancellations.

ALERT FM messages are delivered via GSSNet, our digital network of existing FM radio transmitters around the United States, to multiple receiving devices. Overlapping signals from different FM radio stations help to ensure that there is always a signal that can be received even when other communication systems are disrupted.

This alert and messaging system sends mass or targeted messages to ALERT FM receivers or any device equipped with a FM receiver chip, such as cell phones, iPods, smoke detectors, home alarm systems, or clocks– truly making alert messages accessible to every member of the school.
